Awareness and Presence Do the Real Work

About This Group

Much of Enneagram study focuses on doing—strategies, improvement plans, and ego’s attempts to fix itself. But the truth is simple: the self cannot get out of the self. This peer discussion group shifts the lens from doing to presence.
Together, we will explore the Enneagram not as a set of concepts to master, but as a living doorway into presence. Rather than using type as another identity to reinforce, we will examine how fixation operates in real time and how awareness itself begins to dissolve its hold.
The Enneagram’s deeper value is not in providing more ways to work on ourselves, but in revealing how personality both obscures and reveals the immediacy of essence. By staying close to direct experience through inquiry and presence practices, participants will discover that transformation arises not from effort, but from allowing what is already here to be seen and felt.

What You’ll Experience

Each session unfolds from the living questions that emerge within the group, guided not by a set curriculum or agenda, but by curiosity itself. Through open dialogue, silence, and inquiry, John creates a safe and grounded environment where fixation can be explored as it arises in real time, and where presence gently meets and softens reactivity. This is not work driven by effort or strategy, but an invitation into awareness and natural discovery.
“Transformation doesn’t come from trying harder. It arises when awareness gently meets our patterns in real time.”
— John Harper

Meet Your Facilitator

John Harper
Enneagram & Presence-Based Teacher

John Harper has spent more than fifty years exploring the nature of consciousness, presence, and human unfolding. For the past three decades, he has been a dedicated student of the Diamond Approach, and for over a decade, a teacher of this path—guiding others into the direct experience of essence.

A certified Enneagram teacher for over twenty-five years, John approaches the system as a living portal into being, rather than a method for ego enhancement. He helps participants recognize fixation as it appears and discover how awareness itself gently dissolves its grip.

John is the author of multiple books, including The Enneagram World of the Child, Love Loving Love, and Alone with Alone. His forthcoming book, Nurturing Essence: A Compass for Essential Parenting, deepens his work on presence-centered development.

His invitation is simple:

  • Stay close to your direct experience.
  • Let awareness reveal what is real.
  • Transformation unfolds from presence—naturally.
