About My Work

Across my three practices—Center for Progressive Therapies LLC in Montana, Ahwatukee Psychology LLC in Arizona, and Mysti Rainwater LPC PLLC—I am committed to helping people get the quality, affordable, accessible therapeutic support they need to thrive, instead of just survive. My work merges traditional and progressive psychotherapy, accepting self-pay and insurance-based services in a private practice setting, allowing clients to access care in the way that best fits their circumstances, in-office or telehealth.

Guided by the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel seen, understood and empowered, my purpose is to meet individuals exactly where they are and help them move toward where they want to be. Focused on using innovative, depth-oriented approaches like Enneagram Empowered Psychotherapy ((E²P), partnered with CBT, DBT, IFS and EMDR, each business reflects a shared mission: to provide compassionate, effective counseling that fosters personalized connection, and lasting transformation.

What I Offer

Enneagram Empowered Psychotherapy

Enneagram Empowered Psychotherapy (E²P) is a three-phase (Uncover, Recover, Discover) psychotherapeutic modality for rapid, deeper client understanding, leading to more effective intake, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment and successful discharge.

Group Workshops

E²P is an approach that combines the Enneagram of Personality integrated with various other psychotherapy modalities and theories of human suffering and healing, to increase client collaboration and improve clinical outcomes. The E²P certification course offers 32 hours of online (live or pre-recorded) education and 8 hours of in-person clinical supervision/skill demonstration for certification for a total of 40 CE (continuing education) units.

Speaking & Teaching Engagements

The training aims to introduce E²P concepts and show clinicians how to combine them with approaches like CBT, DBT, IFS, and EMDR to treat issues such as depression, anxiety, and relationship problems more effectively. The sessions cover basic ideas of the Enneagram of Personality, from a variety of seasoned and modern authors, combined with various psychotherapy theories and modalities and introduce unique E²P tools such as Enneagram Empowered Points of View, Enneagram Mapping Method, and “Enneascope”—to support understanding of client suffering and application toward healing.

About Mysti

Mysti Rainwater

Mysti (www.mystirainwater.com) is a Certified Enneagram Teacher, accredited member of International Enneagram Association, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Arizona and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Montana. She is Owner/Clinical Director of Ahwatukee Psychology LLC (www.ahwatukeepsychology.com) in Phoenix Arizona, founder of Center for Progressive Therapies (www.centerforprogressivetherapies.com) in Livingston Montana, and creator of Enneagram Empowered™ products (www.enneagramempowered.com), including Enneagram Empowered Psychotherapy (E²P). She earned a master’s degree from Northern Arizona University in Counseling Psychology after graduating from Arizona State University with a undergraduate degree in Human Communication with minor emphasis in Psychology and Sociology.

Ms. Rainwater holds post graduate certifications in Relationship & Sex Therapy and personality systems including MBTI and Enneagram and has advanced training using Jungian, short-term/solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and systems theory. She teaches E²P to licensed clinicians worldwide in addition to her work with clients, where she practices psychotherapy specializing in improving relationships using the Enneagram.

Unlike some practitioners who use the Enneagram as a secondary tool, Ms. Rainwater has built a specific clinical protocol (E²P) designed for psychotherapists to integrate into traditional medical-model therapy. She doesn’t just “use” the Enneagram; she has developed a formal methodology for it. Ms. Rainwater uses a progressive approach to problem-solving and decision-making, incorporating personality, communication style, and family/cultural/generational/trauma influences. She has been providing counseling and training services for over 30 years and is known for her direct, inspiring, yet practical approach and offers clinical supervision, business consultation, and speaking engagements

Her work challenges traditional definitions of evidence-based care by integrating modern clinical practice with historical and contemplative approaches. Reintroduced to the Enneagram mid-career, Mysti recognized it as a powerful clinical tool for understanding clients more deeply and more quickly. This insight led to the creation of E²P, an integrative approach designed specifically for licensed psychotherapists working within licensure oversight.
